Young At Heart

After experiencing an unusual and stimulating discussion with a group of seniors at a high school (as seen in Changing Perceptions), a number of the students arranged a second meeting with the seniors. What follows is a more in-depth exchange on contemporary issues, as both groups discover many common interests.

Who Am I?

An eye-opening look at seniors and teenagers sharing creative experiences which help them develop empathy for one another. This dynamic interchange results in changing attitudes and eliminating stereotypes.

Where Do I Fit In?

This video documents a visit by a group of seniors to a grade 5/6 class. The multicultural experience gives the young people an opportunity to practice their listening and questioning skills in a realistic social environment. Newly acquired skills promote an easy flow of information and communication between the generations. Curiosity and imagination are stimulated, resulting in enlightened, positive perceptions of the elderly and of different ethnic groups.

Survival and Beyond

survivalandbeyondSurvival and Beyond provides an opportunity to listen deeply to an elderly man discuss not only his depression but also his many suicide attempts. We meet his son, grandson and daughter-in-law, who each movingly describe their feelings about this courageous man who struggled for many years with depression and suicidal behaviors.

Reach Out for a Friend

In this intimate conversation between a teenage girl and a senior woman, we gain fundamental insights about self-esteem and self-direction. The older woman, drawing upon past experiences, helps the girl to be less critical of herself and feel less pressure from her peers and her future. Reach Out For A Friend illustrates the benefits derived from this intergenerational encounter.

Perceptions of Abuse

Perceptions of AbuseThe issue as seen through the eyes of adolescents, is the story of Norman, an older man abused by his grown sons. The video provides powerful stimulus for discussion on a wide variety of sensitive topics.

Informative and thought-provoking, it underscores the importance of raising awareness at an early age about issues related to troubled families, isolation, helplessness, self-esteem, power and control.

One on One

A stimulating classroom encounter between seniors and high school students leads to another more in-depth meeting and subsequently to extroardinary one-to-one discussions. The result is greater understanding and keener perceptions for both generations.

A Need to Connect

A Need to Connect

A Need To Connect is the reflection of a young woman’s journey through her experiences as both witness to and survivor of the suicide of a loved one. She shares her tremendous grief and profound sadness with the viewer and goes on to tell the story of her own suicide attempt.

Changing Peceptions

In a rare encounter, a class of high school students and seniors exchange ideas and confront challenging issues. This interaction initiates changes in perception and understanding and leads to greater mutual acceptance.

Breaking PointA formerly abusive daughter relates her story. A sensitive and emotional portrayal emerges of the progression of events which create the victimization of both the daughter and the invalid mother.
