Survival and Beyond

Survival and Beyond provides an opportunity to listen deeply to an elderly man discuss not only his depression but also his many suicide attempts. We meet his son, grandson and daughter-in-law, who each movingly describe their feelings about this courageous man who struggled for many years with depression and suicidal behaviors.

Three generations share their perceptions and insights as they lived through these experiences. We are given a remarkable glimpse into the minds, hearts and souls of a family, each of whom provided understanding, caring and support for the family patriarch.

The insights revealed in this poignant video help us to better understand the dynamics of depression, suicide and the strength and power of the family as a resource.
